About NUF
NUF is Women led and Women based non-profit, non-political making Voluntary Organization which has been working for the Socio-economic development of the poorest sections in the Chandpur district. A disable women worked and member of our executive committee in this organization. It is especially work with unreached children’s and adolescent girls and untouchable communities. It was established in January/2004. NUF have started its journey & activities in 2004. In 2004, a group of professionals got convinced that social development is only possible if the problems and crisis of the common women are met. They felt that only voluntary attitude and dedication at micro–level might uplift the standard of life. At the very outset, NUF begun their work at community level and focused their concentration on education, livelihood and health care. It grew increasingly and accepted by the local people and project beneficiaries rapidly during the past few years due to its people’s oriented, targeted, durable and accelerated in poverty alleviating programs with the resources it has at his disposal. From the inception of the organization, NUF has been implementing various social development activities in its project areas of Kachua and Sharasthi Upazila under Chandpur district in Bangladesh.

Our Founder
Ms. Mira Rani Das, the visionary Founder of Nari Unnayan Foundation, is a dedicated advocate for women’s empowerment and gender equality in Bangladesh. With years of grassroots experience, she has led initiatives that uplift marginalized women-focusing on education, livelihood skills, disability rights, SRHR awareness, gender-based violence prevention, Climate Action and socio-economic inclusion.
Her leadership has expanded opportunities for rural and urban-poor women through vocational training, entrepreneurship support, legal rights education, and community mobilization. Ms. Das is widely recognized for her commitment to creating safe spaces where women and adolescent girls can learn, lead, and thrive. Her work continues to strengthen women’s resilience, agency, and participation in community development across Bangladesh.
Vision
NUF believes that the distressed women can play a vital role to the overall socio-economic development. It also can play a great role for organizing the adolescent girls and provide in life-based education and aware to develops them as a resource in the society. Ensure sustainable development of the women through alleviating poverty.
Mission
The mission of NUF is to ensure participation of community people, especially women, adolescents, and children, in their development process to improve the living standard and to ensure the quality of life for all the community people through health, justice, equality, gender awareness, democracy & empowerment.
